I was a camper in 1984(?). Thinking of sending my daughter there next year!

My nieces are at camp right now, and my daughter is so disappointed that she did not get to go. Next year she (and perhaps my son) will definitely be there.
I have such incredible memories of Strong River and hope that they enjoy it as much. And, I can't wait for them to learn the Strong River songs. When they were babies, those are the only songs I sang to them!!

I am so sorry I missed the reunion! Please have one again soon so Melissa Overby and I can attend. We spent a weekend together recently writing down and singing Strong River songs. I hope I can send my girls to Strong River in a few years with Elee's girls!
Love,
Lendy

I started at Strong River 36 summers ago and still think of camp almost every day. We had watermelon for the 4'th and I sang the watermelon song for my two children and told them about the watermelon rapids. Thanks Tay for being such a wonderful influence on my life. I hope I can pass down all of my camp lessons to my children.

Its been so long yet i remember EVERYTHING i did at strong river. i even learned how to play harmonica which is now my profession. i miss it so much. i was there for five years, my last year i had the chance to be a CIT. the song still plays over and over in my head, "the spirit of strong river is with you always, it will be there wherever you go, and nobody else can find it for you, you have to find it for yourself." i remember my favorite counselor, guy. i wish i could get in touch with him. he was my role model. i want to thank everyone who made strong river my home. i miss it so much i cry, and im a grown man now haha. peace=canoe and archery is still my fave and what im good at thanks to you.

I love the website. The pictures of the orange mailbox brought back tons of memories! I can't wait for my kids to come in a couple of years.

I think often about how the way I do things now can be attributed to the stories told at Morning Watch. They have stayed with me through the years:
The man who could sleep through a storm,
The ditchdigger,
The famous house builder,
The sculptor of the Statue of Liberty,
The boy with the long neck (some days you just don't want to be called a giraffe),
The boy with chocolate on his face,
and others.
The morals of those stories are with me every day.

I was a counselor at the beginning of Strong River Camp and Farm way back in the seventies! Great memories about being in on the very beginning of a very special place..Love the feeling of rounding the bend driving in from Pinola. It feels like Home!!!

Saw the Strong River Camp and Farm group on Facebook this morning.. I've been singing camp songs all morning! 25+ years later I still remember every word to the gilly gilly hotsa pepper cats and alla bogen by the se e e e ea song (that was my award for the year). Strong River was such a wonderful place. I'm so hoping health problems will be panned out by May for the reunion! I was a camper in the mid to late 70's and will always have fond memories of sitting around the camp fire listing to the guitar, singing songs, canoeing and the wonderful rapids with "watermelon bugs" and many more memories. Just wanted to say GREAT JOB in still molding young lives today!
